Things we love spark joy.

…DUH! Thanks Captain Obvious! While this may be the most obvious statement of all time, this simple truth breeds an abundance of questions which keep me wondering: 

What is it about x that makes it so beautiful? 

What are the unique characteristics of x that magically spark joy? 

How can I illuminate these special qualities in my depiction of x? 

These are the questions I seek to answer in my work. Simply put, I create oil paintings which aim to capture the essence and beauty in the things we love, whether that be a juicy red grapefruit, a furry friend, or an archived photo of the house you grew up in.
